Profiling for security27 Sep 2006 16:21 GMT6
Why is it that when the FBI profiles serial murderers and rapists nobody
seems to care, but when we do the same in the airports for security ....
everyone is up in arms?
Trip report/security gone mad27 Sep 2006 15:05 GMT23
On Thursday evening I flew MAN-BFS (bmibaby) and Friday BHD-BHX (Flybe).
Some short observations:
- everyone had to remove shoes at both MAN and BHD - Belt also at BHD.
Didn't see this at LHR a couple of weeks ago when we were supposedly in a
Pre-Clearance27 Sep 2006 13:11 GMT8
How can this be? US Customs working on Canadian "Soil" ? Why would
the Canadian Government even allow this?
Is this something new they are trying in Halifax? Intercepting
undesirables before they get to the US. Before we are forced to deal
Easyjet title change26 Sep 2006 21:38 GMT7
Flying from Bristol to Geneva in a week or so's time.
I have a minor error on my booking (it's my fault) that the title of
one of the passengers says Mr. Sarah Smith instead of Mrs.
There is an 0871 number to call to change minor errors in spelling or
EarPlanes26 Sep 2006 19:25 GMT3
Anyone out there ever use Earplanes. Just wondering if they work, as
the packages says at helping with pain in the ears while flying. I
normally don't experience any, but a few years back when flying had a
cold and noticed a little pain on ascent and descent. I am flying out

We can now take some liquids on the plane with us.26 Sep 2006 14:37 GMT3
I saw this posted over at rec.travel.cruises and thought it would be of
interest to everyone here. Looks like we can now take liquids in over
carry-on luggage provided it is less than 3ozs and it is in a clear
plastic bottle. Also can bring on liquids purchased in the gate area.
re; liquids loosened26 Sep 2006 13:37 GMT1
If I were one for conspiracy theories, I would guess that this was all
cooked up by an association of airport vending companies.
Ever notice, at least at ORD, no matter what the name of the store,
they all have the same prepackaged sandwiches and salads, and the
Transit Passengers26 Sep 2006 11:58 GMT2
I flew back to Manchester from Berlin via Stansted yesterday on Air
Berlin. I had bought a bottle of spirits at Tegel (airside)  and was
asked at Stansted, as we transferred and went through security, for my
receipt which I had, and was allowed to carry it onwards to

Pan Am plane at LGA??26 Sep 2006 03:10 GMT2
I was at LaGuardia yesterday afternoon and pulled up at gate 6 of the Delta
terminal was none other than a PanAm 727.  It wasn't taking passengers, and
I figured it was a training plane or something.  Later on it was out in the
queue for take off.
So what do I do now with my new carry-on items?26 Sep 2006 01:45 GMT1
Obviously, I'll carry them and use them; but they weren't my first
choices of brands and types.  Oh, well, maybe I'll learn to love:
tooth powder, stick deodorant, stick facial makeup, stick sunscreen,
pocketpack oral strips....  And the big box of dehydrated water.
Frequent Flyer questions25 Sep 2006 16:40 GMT4

Muslim Cabbies Refuse Fares to Infidels25 Sep 2006 16:29 GMT36
So if muslim cabbies have the 'religious right' to refuse fares to
infidels, then equallly don't we kafirs also have the same right to
refuse to hire muslim cabbies??
I say that all muslim cabbies should be made to paint a crescent on
Associated Press: Airline Allegedly Utilizing Old Maps25 Sep 2006 16:12 GMT2
