As many readers of this Usenet group are aware, there has never been a requirement for a US citizen to present a passport for rentry into the US, although it certainly expedited the process. As of January 23, 2007, that is no longer the case.

Bangkok opened a new airport, Suvarnabhumi, in September. Does anyone know of hotels that are close to the airport and are priced under US$100, preferably in the $50 range? I am aware of the Novotel right at the airport, but rooms there are over $150.
