I am a little confused about how to utilize ITA Software's flight
search results.
With Orbitz, Kayak, etc., you can buy the ticket, or you are taken to a
site where you can buy it.

Starting June 21st Zoom fly Gatwick to JFK. Looking at their web site they
have fares as low as £89.50 one way depending on dates.
