I recall reading that air travel is more harmful to the environment than travelling the same distance by car. This seems hard to believe. I travel a lot by train since it is cheaper and supposedely the most environment friendly? What are your thoughts? Should I feel guilty

For specific dates/times, I'm a big fan of kayak.com, with its intuitive sliders. For flexible dates, travelocity sometimes helps, although often the dates that it highlights as having potential availability "disappear"

I know I can bring 3oz. or less travel bottles. I assume this means I can bring my own (clear) bottles and fill them with whatever I want assuming they are less than 3oz per bottle and the total fits in a quart zip bag?
