Granddaughter, 18, is going to be in the UK (from the US) next month and is
looking for suggestions for day, or perhaps overnight, trips (coach or
train) out of Manchester or Widnes (visiting family in both places).  Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Flying out of Amsterdam on a KLM/NWA flight last week, while taxiing
out to takeoff position, the plane stopped, and after a while we were
told that we'd be returning to the gate because a passenger had
failed to board the plane after checking his bags and going through

Appreciate normal size soda drinks and liquid/gel type foods cannot be taken
through airport security, but can you take food items such as home made
sandwiches through TSA searches?
Cannot find anything on the TSA web site either way.

got pulled aside for a "strip search" or "special screening"
I had a laptop, video camera, and computer cables... nothing unusual
