| Cigars from Cuba for Groggy... | 06 Jan 2008 08:05 GMT | 2 |
A quick and imprecise check of New Zealand's import laws reveals that while Groggy may bring 50 seegars into his remote island country when he returns from Cuber on Silly8's first and only 747 direct from Oz to Ha'banana & RTN, he'll not be able to order any more directly.

Over the years, usually near airports, I've seen jet planes stationary in the sky. Of course, I know this is impossible, but what is the science behind the illusion? In the most recent case, I was riding an Amtrak train, going north and east, near EWR, and I saw a plane outside the ...

| Rushed into the security gate | 01 Jan 2008 17:43 GMT | 49 |
Whenever I fly from an airport whose security line is short or empty, I’m approached by a TSA agent as I pause to remove my metal objects from my person, before entering the metal detector. I’m usually some distance from the security gate (that is, not blocking its

| The Eagle has landed.........err, when exactly!!!! | 01 Jan 2008 15:13 GMT | 7 |
I have been puzzling about something for some time, which somebody out there must know - and after several pints of homebrew, now seems a suitable moment to ask. If a plane is shown as having landed (or "arrived") at - for example -
