On the way out of OAK yesterday, I paid tax on a newspaper at a newsstand. I thought that tax was included on newspapers. Can anyone fill me in on the correct policy?

Firstly, let me say that I have children of my own so I am not anti-bubs. BUT.... On three occasions recently I have been kept awake on 13 hour flights by screaming babies (twice in coach and once in business).

Why exactly are you not allowed to use a notebook computer during take- off and landing? The radio power emitted by a notebook should be too weak to cause any problems to the plane electronics.
