Old Elephant Trail Expedition Updates02 Feb 2004 02:18 GMT3
I'm doing a solo expedition of the Old Elephant Trail between Mae Hong Son
and Chiangmai. This was a very busy ancient trade route over the mountains
established around 1831 and became abandoned when roads were built in the
1950s. The villages along the trail are still there.

anyone had any experience of using a company called Project Himalaya. I'm
thinking of going to Tibet with them.

We're planning to leave for Thailand in one week, and we'll be there
just over 2 weeks.  We're a bit nervous about the whole bird flu scare.
