Me and my mate want to drive from europe to oz next year. we'll plan

There's one thing that I haven't understood during the last ten years. Why
on earth do people carry huge backpack while travelling (or should I say
budget travelling)?
When we go for a few months trip with my wife we usually have one medium

my fiancees family lives, ill mostly be in urdaneta city and the
batangas , any tips and is it safe, she told me not to worry but ive
never done any major traveling before.

Can't find anything under $1000 from the East Coast, US, Montreal. Any
leads??

We are planning a trip to a Thailand island and to Siem Reap
(Cambodia) for August. We will be in Cambodia only 2 days. We are
taking our two kids (7 and 11 years old) with us. I'm very concerned
about the kids having to take those anti-malaria drugs for a month.

Has anyone been out to Harbin, China to give me some tips about this place?
