I be concerned with Malaria?  Also what about Ko Chang in Thailand?

I browsed through some photo galleries about Guilin and Yangshuo on
pbase.com and I'm not that impressed. Most photos showed Guilin covered
with clouds or fog, and the scenery was not too impressive. The only
interesting thing seemed to be those rice terraces. By comparison,

looking for a room nearby the Bund, not a dump and not a $200 room !
Peace hotel seems overrated, so any recommendations from fellow travellers?

My experience is that it's readily available in Thailand and at a MUCH lower
price than in Europe.

I live in S. Korea, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a way to
get to Palau.  Some travel agents straight up told me it was
