I may be in South Korea on business in the next year or so. I'd be fascinated to have a chance to visit North Korea while over there. I guess I could get into North Korea via Beijing, for example, but are there any ways to travel to the north directly?

Anyone have any experience of Lao Airlines. I have read about their poor safety reputation, but understand this may relate more to their previous incarnation as Lao Aviation. Is Lao Airlines any different? Any comments?

I am beginning to plan a 3 week trip to SE Asia that can occur for a 3 week period anytime between Dec 12th and Jan 21st. Although a very experienced 3rd world traveler, I have never been in Asia before or have any specific knowledge of it.
