fascinated to have a chance to visit North Korea while over there.  I
guess I could get into North Korea via Beijing, for example, but are
there any ways to travel to the north directly?

Anyone have any experience of Lao Airlines. I have read about their poor
safety reputation, but understand this may relate more to their previous
incarnation as Lao Aviation. Is Lao Airlines any different?
Any comments?

I am beginning to plan a 3 week trip to SE Asia that can occur for a 3
week period anytime between Dec 12th and Jan 21st.
Although a very experienced 3rd world traveler, I have never been in
Asia before or have any specific knowledge of it.
