This may sound stupid but I don't know how to pronounce Laos properly.
Some suggestions:
1. As it sounds 'Lay-Us'?
2. Made to sound like 'Now' but with the N replaced with an L?

On a whole the Thai police are not very big on shaking down tourists,but
in Bangkok at least some have found a new hussle.They have a very tough
anti littering law and have been known to follow a smoking tourist
around until he discards his cigarette and then stop him for littering

We are thinking about going to Bangkok, then driving in SE Asia,
specifically thru Thailand,Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Does anyone have any experience?  We have done driving thruout Europe (both
western and eastern).

period. Can anyone recommend a good place (Sapa,Dalat,etc) to do a homestay
with the local ethnic groups. Also, whats the best way to organise something
