I'm looking to go from the West Coast of the US to Bangkok in April,
spend three weeks around SE Asia, then go up to Kunming and Beijing for
about 5 days each, then back to the US in early May.
Ideally this would go US -> Bangkok -> Kunming -> Beijing -> US, but

I am planning a trip in Xinjiang for this summer.
Of course I will go to Urumqi and to Kashi, but I wonder if it is worth
to make the trip from these cities by bus or train, or if it is better
