My wife and I are planning a vacation to Australia this June and July.
We would like to fly into Sydney and then drive to Darwin via the
Stuart highway and then to Cairns. We have allotted 5 weeks for this
trip and would like to camp as much as possible. We just checked with

I had previously avoided Tasmania in January because I felt that the school
holidays might overcrowd the limited facilities, however, with a little bit
of planning and pre-booking of accommodation (which turned out to be a VERY
good move - some places were completely booked out) it ...

I'll be going to Barcaldine and Longreach soon, but I'm not quite sure
about the accommodations. A friend of mine recommended Barcaldine as I
wanted to see more of the outback and non-touristy Australia, and
knows someone owning a pub there with the option to stay there as

I'm coming to Oz in March and I'm thinking of buying a digital camera to
take with me. Only I am intending to backpack so I wont have a laptop or
anything. Will I be able to upload the pictures from a digital camera to a
website in an internet cafe?

Am going to NZ for the first 2 weeks in Feb, and obviously the Milford Track
is booked out.  So can anyone offer any alternatives for about a 3-6 day
walk?

What is the best time of the year to tour New Zealand for 3 weeks?
Looking for a compromise between weather and minimizing crowded
conditions.
I plan on touring both the North and South Islands by car.

Do you guys think its worth buying a hostel membership?  I'll be spending 4
weeks in New Zealand, and 8 weeks in Australia.
If so, what type of membership do you think I should buy?

The subject says it: looking for a store in Sydney where I can find an
adapter to the US/Canada electrical plug. The ones they sell here only have
the two angles pins, not the ground. It still might work, but I'd rather
get the correct plug and I'm sure it's sold somewhere in ...

hey there...
i'm from germany and i wanna go on a "work and travel" trip to
australia in september (for about 9 months) and i have so many
questions about it i don't even know where to start.

I've just arrived at Hervey bay and will be here for a couple of days
before I move on. Doesn't seem like a very interesting place really,
other than a starting point for going to Fraser island. Staying at
Urangan I haven't even seen a beach, so I think I'll move on shortly.

Im going to New Zealand this April and have always wanted to go to
Queenstown.
Is it too cold in April or is it still worth going?
Can anyone recommend B&B and bars etc.
