car hire in Sydney10 Feb 2004 04:46 GMT4
Any recommendations for a car hire firm in Sydney.  I want to hire for six
day next month, using a Magna / Camry or Mirage / equivalent going
Wollongong, Bathurst and return.  Airport or close would be best, otherwise
the cab hire to pick the car up & return it kills any advantage.  ...

finally

Outback Flooding10 Feb 2004 02:01 GMT6
Just seen some film of the flooding in SW Queensland/NE South Australia as
the Diamantina and Coopers Creek - boats running around where roads are
(about 20' below). The pub at Innamincka has some great photos of the 1974
floods - one aerial shot of the roof of the pub poking out of ...

I'm still planning my Sydney honeymoon. We are going to be there at the end

In the first week of March, I intend to make a 3 night
stopover in Sydney. I have never been there before and
would therefore appreciate some suggestions about a cheap

A few things about Australia07 Feb 2004 22:29 GMT5
I intend to spend one month in Australia (starting march) and yes that
country is BIG...  I am not sure about my travel plans and I still have a
few stupid but unanswered questions (motly about the weather stuff).
1. Isn't the sea too cold around Sydney at that time ? (don't laugh ...
****SHIPPING GIFTS HOME BY DHL****07 Feb 2004 13:54 GMT6
Hi all. We have recently returned home from OZ. Whilst there I purchased a
Didgeridoo from a shop in Surfers Paradise. I paid $280 for this and was
advised that for another $60 I could have it shipped home with DHL. As it
weighed in at 6kg I decided this would be the best option. If ...
Bad Accommodation07 Feb 2004 05:34 GMT12
We've been lucky enough to be accepted for STNI in Victoria and hope to
make the actual move around August time this year - I know it's the
winter but who cares!  We were wondering about staying somewhere nice
like a 4* or even 5* hotel (to give us a good early impression of
Best place to buy authentic aboriginal stuff?07 Feb 2004 04:01 GMT18
I'm not one to buy the many cheezy souvenirs in different countries,
but I've  always wanted a boomerang.
I've seen them for sale everywhere, in tourist souvenir shops and
such, but I'd rather buy it from a more "authentic" aboriginal place

After my trip to NZ (as mentiond in my previous post),
I'll be flying over to Brisbane for a week. Here again I
will have plenty of free time (and a car) to shop and so
I am looking for any recommendations for secondhand record

Tips for Fiji06 Feb 2004 18:52 GMT2
My husband and I are travelling around the world in October. Our first
stop is Fiji, where we are staying for 4 nights at the Warwick Hotel
before heading onto New Zealand.
As we're only in Fiji for a few days, we'd like to make the most of
Rental Car Insurance Part 2 - The Fine Print/Actually Having to Use It?06 Feb 2004 00:13 GMT1
Further to previous discussions....
Of course one hopes to never have to use car insurance, but has anyone been
in a situation of having an accident while driving a rental car (in New
Zealand, in particular) and having to use the insurance coverage provided?
