At the risk of being totally swamped with suggestions, can anyone
recommend some *good* travel blogs? Not ones that are basically 'went
down to English pub with load of mates we met in bar in Chiang Mai and
got totally pissed etc etc' but ones that actually tell you a bit

Have you done the camper van rental thing in Oz or NZ? If so, what
company would you recommend?
If you have a web address and/or for the rental company, that would be

We are willing be visiting Melbourne, Yarra Valley, Phillip Island,

does anyone have any experience with copying photos from digital camera
(CF memory card) to CD while traveling across Australia? I just want to

Why do European and American travellers feel it necessary to visit both
Australia and NZ? As if Australia&NZ is one country.
I think people look at a map and see an opportunity to tick off another

I am planing to travel to NZ in August 2005
(25.07 - 05.09.) but is it smart to go there

My wife and I will stay in Sydney for a few days in december.
While there we are planning to buy a video camera. Any ideas
where we can get a good deal, and if it's possible to buy
it tax free?

Is it possible to camp in the grounds of hostels in NZ for a cheap fee?
I know in Aus that there is some law preventing the hostel owners doing
this but is it the same in NZ?

Qantas is offering some good fares to australia/nz and we would like
to take advantage of it and book our tickets for mid March.
