1. Once I find a rental apartment in Perth to move into, how long does
it take to get a phone line + broadband internet connected and ready to
use?
2. Can you recommend a phone / broadband company with a good package?

I´m planning a trip to Australia. Mainly I´ll be staying in Sidney. Does
anyone know if it´s safe for tourists? Any bad experiences? Or are
warnings just urban legends? I don´t want to come back 6 feet
down-under.....

I'm moving to Perth in January and have provisionally bought a car from
a work colleague to pick up when i get there. Its a 10 year old Honda
Accord. He doesn't have a Road Worthy Certificate (RWC) although the
car apparently runs well.

Do the PCs at most hostels allow you to do a download onto a CD?
Probably not, so what are the cheap alternative along popular places on
the East Coast?

I´m going to Sydney and want to meet locals (avoiding the tourist crowd
hangouts from the guidebook), can anybody give recommendations for places?

campervans in Australia similar to the hotel websites like Wotif. Some
rental car firms are offering cheap one way deals to get the cars back to

We are travelling to Cooktown QLD for a couple of days 10 - 12 January and

We are travelling to Oz very shortly. We are seeking advice on the best way
to take the cash there.  We have debit cards, credit cards and money in the
savings.  Do we get travellers cheques?  or take our cards??????
