YHA vs. VIP Discounts12 Dec 2004 21:36 GMT7
Do either membershipss either discounts on train passes and airfares?
What kind of dicounts can you get with YHA in Canada and the US?
I heard that the YHA non-hostel discounts are for places so out of the
way, they're not worth using.  Comments?

Melbourne from the 25th to 30th of Dec...09 Dec 2004 08:50 GMT7
I couldn't arrange a trip to Carins during this time so my "friends"
are abandoning me in Melbourne for the week.  The trip is essentially
last minute so I have no idea where to start and what to do.  Well, I
would like to *try* to surf.  Gold Coast?  Are car rentals reasonable?

Gday everyone, I'm from Australia and traveling elsewhere but thought
someone here might be able to answer my question.
I'm planning on buying an engagement ring early next year and also taking an
overseas holiday shortly after.
housekeeping motel in Auckland08 Dec 2004 04:13 GMT6
My wife and I will be in NZ for 7 weeks starting end of January, '05. We're
thinking to stay in Auckland (where we arrive) for 2 or 3 weeks and use a
rental car to venture out from there. Natural sights with hiking and
possibly biking are our major interest.  We're not rock bottom ...

Australia - Flight Hopping + Car Rental?07 Dec 2004 13:42 GMT6
I am contemplating a trip to to Australia (from Canada) possibly in 2005 and
am wondering what experience/recommendations others might have about
combining some domestic Australian flights (perhaps via the Quantas airpass)
with car rentals at various locations.

I'm gonna travel from Sydney to Cairns in feb/march 2005 and would like to
experience the great barrier reef on the way. I'm no experienced diver, but
I do have the PADI open water diver certificate. So where would the best
place to experience the reef this time of the year be?

Visiting Melbourne Late Dec till end Jan Seeking Accomodation..06 Dec 2004 10:24 GMT4
I plan a rather extensive visit... probably at least 3 months.
The first thing I'd like to do is to stay in the Melbourne
area till the end of January (I'm a tennis fan and plan
to attend AUOpen). Any thoughts on longterm accomodations?
Spirit of the Tropic Train06 Dec 2004 02:32 GMT6
It's mentionned in the guidebooks, but not on Queensland Travelrail's
website, www.travelrail.qr.com.
Is it still in service?  If so, where can I find a schedule and is it
covered by the Flexipass?
