We just booked a 3-week December/January trip to Australia. We will probably spend Christmas week in Tasmania and would appreciate suggestions for "special" places to stay for the holiday.We plan to fly into Hobart and rent a car but are open as to how to spend our 7-10 days.

I have been in Australia several times. I have found Australians fine psople, ecept on the road. I simply do not like to to drive as fast as the great majority of people do and I am presumptuos enogh to believe I have no obligation to either drive faster or stay off the road.
