St Maarten Euros Winair29 Feb 2004 22:41 GMT3
Two items about St Maarten from The Daily Herald.
1) Quite a few merchants on the Dutch side now accept euros, but not at a
very attractive rate "since they have to go to a bank on the French side to
convert them to dollars".  More confirmation that the de facto currency of
Vegetarian food in the Caribbean29 Feb 2004 10:41 GMT1
I was thinking of going to Antigua in June but I'm a bit worried about
getting vegetarian meals - I do not eat fish. Is there a better island
to visit instead of Antigua for this reason?
Any recommendations on where to stay would be helpful too.

Looking for great off beach snorkeling, beaches etc.
Not looking for Nightlife or Casinos.
Have sent 3 summers with a week each in villas on St. John.
Looking for something like that but different.  I.e. new to explore.

I have heard that some people miss me on the newsgroup.
I have not felt very good for a while, and have not been writing on the
group, or answered people that has written to me personaly.
I am sorry about that, and ask for apology.
safety, air jamaica26 Feb 2004 05:58 GMT17
All right, these news stories of al Qaida circumventing US air
security by attempting to commandeer foreign airlines has me wondering
whether people regard air jamaica as being reasonably secure. We're
flying from Boston to St. Lucia with a change of plane in Montego Bay.
Vegetarian food in the Caribbean26 Feb 2004 01:00 GMT3
I am thinking of going to Antigua in June and would like to know if,
as a vegetarian I will be stuck with just rice and beans.
Also any recommendations on where to stay would be helpful too.
How to Convince Boyfriend of NEED to Visit Caribbean?26 Feb 2004 00:57 GMT36
All my life, I have longed to visit the islands. Now that I am finally in a
long-term relationship, I suggested that we rent a small beach-front cottage
or villa for a week, which was met with disdain. The boyfriend is a hunter,
who spends two to three weeks of his vacation time ...

Wyndham El Conquistador Resort: activity suggestions?25 Feb 2004 04:02 GMT1
Hi, I'm a college student going to Wyndham El Conquistador Resort with
my parents for a week in the summertime. I would like to know what
sort of activities there are there for kids my age. It's the first

Opinions wanted: Paradisus Varadero24 Feb 2004 22:48 GMT1
I am considering a vacation at Paradisus Varadero in Cuba.  It is more
expensive than most others, but the place does seem to get better reviews.
Can anyone offer an opinion on this place?  Is it worth the extra cost?
Any help would be appreciated.
How Do You Get A Second Passport?24 Feb 2004 22:35 GMT10
To quote:
"Are there better environments?  Yes, take my word for it.  I left the
USA several years ago and I’ve never returned, not once, nor would I
for any price.  I spend my time in Rio de Janeiro, Panama, Buenos

Jamaica North Coast Highway ?23 Feb 2004 23:30 GMT2
I have read on visitjamaica.com that there is a new highway called the
North Coast Highway which makes the travel time from Montego Bay to
Negril less. Previous travel times were 90 minutes. Does anyone have
experience on taking this highway and what are the travel times?
