I was just wondering what everyones thoughts are on travelling to the
Dominican Republic, with Haiti being in such turmoil. I understand the UN
and lots of US and other forces are now there, but it still freaks me out to
be in a country right next door.

I am visting St. Lucia soon and will have a rental car.
Friends have said it is not worth it and the roads are not the best.
I do need to visit both ends of the island.  Any comments on driving
in St. Lucia?
