My girlfriend recently obtained some free flights from Virgin, so we
were  thinking of going to St Lucia this summer for a week to ten
days.
Since we have the flights, we're not looking for a full package;

I'm sure I read somewhere that the departure tax from St Lucia has to be
paid in local currency (this would be unusual - other places we've been
insist on US$!). Can anyone here confirm/refute?

In just 10 days we'll be headed for St. John on the USVI for the first
time, and we're really excited!  It's our first trip there, and I'm
sure we'll have a great time, but there's one thing that we've been
wondering about after following this newsgroup for a while: the cost

When I left Curacao, an unfriendly guard was asking everybody to open their
bags for inspection.  He was really digging through things.  He unzipped
small cases and even felt around the lining of my jacket.  He didn't know
how to pack clothes folding my tie in eighths and my jacket ...

We are planning to visit the resort in July, does anybody have any
suggestions, recommendations, reviews, or past experiences?

Isn't there a Wal-Mart in Cancun?  Does anyone know how to get to it from
the hotel zone?  Would I be able to take the bus to it?

A friend is traveling this week on JetBlue from New York to San Juan
Puerto Rico and back.  Both flights leave around 11AM and arrive
around 3PM.  She wants to know what exactly does JetBlue call a
"snack"?  Is it just a soda and a bag of peanuts, or something more
