I'll make this as short as possible, I am strongly considering  packing up,
and leaving the US. I would like to live on any island for a little while.
I would have around 5,000  US dollars to get myself set up. Do you think
this is possible? I do not speak anything other than ...

Anybody stayed there? Comments? We have been to that beach but not the
hotel.

Buses pass by the Aruba airport, but don't go in. Just how long a walk from
the terminals to the road is it? One airport in the Caribbean where the
walk from the road to the terminal is way too long is Castries Airport in
St. Lucia. Is it like that? Or what?

   We're off to Akumal for two weeks at the end of November. Our main
interests are snorkelling and beach-combing. Anybody have any
suggestions for snorkel sites that shouldn't be missed? (or conversely,
spots that aren't worth the effort) Can you reach the fringing reef from

Of to St. Lucia for a week next month, staying All Inclusive at LeSport.
As we don't plan to leave the resort, we don't really want to take much
local currency- we maybe need enough to cover departure tax.

My sister is planning on taking her family - husband, wife and 2 kids
( 12 and 9 yrs old) on a cruise  from Miami- approx. one week long.

Does anyone have any contact details for land searches in Little Exum-
a. I have inherited some land in Little Exuma, however, no taxes have
been paid for some years.  I'd like to know if the land still belongs
to my family or if the government can reclaim the land if there are

In response to the Bush administration's increased sanctions on
Cuba, they have banned use of US$ in shops.  It's still legal for
people to hold them, but to spend them they need to be exchanged

I'm not trying to decide just when I switch between the islands on my ABCs
trip. I'm planning to start on Aruba, then after Carnival fly to one of the
others. Aruba's Grand Parade is on Sunday. I can either leave that evening,
or leave the next morning. Since I consider darkness ...

Anyone have comments, links, stories to share? We are considering this as a
quick trip after Thanksgiving - late Novemember/early December.
Mainly, we want to dive, relax, walk on the beach, sit at a tiki bar.
We don't like large hotels, large groups of tourists, etc.
