We are planning a trip to the Caribbean and have noticed some

Can anyone point us in the direction of an island where you can stay in one
place (on the beach) and be able to walk to lots of restaurant - NOT within
one huge sterile resort, but in a more mixed environment. Anyone been to
Cabarete, DR would know what I mean.
