I heard a few years ago that Norwegian Cruise Line had purchased the SS
United States and it appeared as though they'd refurbish and introduce the
ship into its fleet.
Has anyone heard any updates on this?  As far as I know, it's still rusting

I just got back (off the ship this -morning) from a week-long cruise
on the Pride of Hawaii.  It was an Atlantis charter, so some of the
regular ship's procedures did not apply.  Some comments, and
comparisons with the last ship I sailed on, the Celebrity Infinity,

The cow and I are taking our first cruise in sevearl years. We are booked
onthe Zuidiernman out of Miami. What is the new policy about tipping? We are
used to using the envelpoes given to us.

For your information, on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer
dated 26 April 2007, bottom of the page.  There is a photo of the top
of a ship light up for the night.
The caption reads:  The SS United States is lit up for the PBS
