Using GPS with a laptop to get position?12 Oct 2007 04:50 GMT14
Is it possible to use a GPS receiver with a laptop, plus maps,
to follow the ship as it cruises? We prefer balcony cabins, so
have ample access to the sky.
I have no problem finding receivers, but where can I find
The Cruising Season for the Caribbean has started12 Oct 2007 01:24 GMT5
We are at the begining the cruising season in the Caribbean.  It is
time to get away from your daily stress of city life and time to relax
and have fun.  Cruising is the best way to do that.  You get to visit
many islands, enjoy good food, laze on out sand beaches etc, etc, etc.

Southwest Airlines Offers a Hand With Bags!12 Oct 2007 00:06 GMT6
I received this press release from Southwest Airlines and thought it
would be of interest.  I wonder how long it will take the airlines
that provide this service on a complimentary basis to figure out they
can charge for this currently free service.  If you have missed any of
Shareholder perks on RCI?11 Oct 2007 23:49 GMT14
Does anyone know if Royal Caribbean offers any cruise-time perks to
RCI stock shareholders?  I recall that Carnival did; how about RCI?
Thanks in advance.

Laundry costs11 Oct 2007 20:36 GMT37
Anyone know what laundry costs on Princess?
Not the Laundromat, the pick up and return service.
We are platinum and so that is not a free perk and we are trying to cut back
on suitcases for a 15 day trip this January.
NCL Show costumes11 Oct 2007 17:38 GMT3
On a May/June Alaska cruise I watched a show production that featured
'flaming' tiki poles and sequined tiki costumes. They were so hideous that
they were wonderful.  I'd wanted pictures of the costumes and props but, of
course, photography is forbidden and I couldn't get ...

New MSC " Clean Air" smoking policy11 Oct 2007 17:18 GMT31
New limitations on smoking. And from a European cruise line yet! If
that is not the hand writing on the wall for the whole cruise industry
in the near future --- what is?
Bye Bye second hand smoke.....

Carnival Cruise Line has implemented a new fare structure for single

For category 4A and higher, fares are still 200% of the double rate, but now
they are charging 200% of the non-commissionable fare (NCF) component of the
Who wants to help writing a travel guidebooks?11 Oct 2007 17:02 GMT7
With some friends I started a project to make far better printed
travel guidebooks than available today. Firstly, they should be much
more up-to-date and more tailor-made. Secondly, all the people who
help writing them should get much more credits for it than they get
Passport Issue11 Oct 2007 16:59 GMT7
Just a follow up on the passport issue that has been discussed here at
length. My son's friend applied for his passport for our spring cruise in
the third week of August. He received his passport on August 20th so things
must not be so congested anymore. At least in the New ...
Windjammer11 Oct 2007 07:58 GMT4
I am so sad that Windjammer is going bust.  We've sailed on their ships 5
times and had fabulous trips.  It was a great way to introduce wanna be
sailors to the sea.  We last sailed on the Poly in 2000.  It was in pretty
bad shape then.
Sex on board - best cruise line/ship?11 Oct 2007 05:52 GMT39
I'm 52, fit, tall, and healthy, but recently
divorced, and would like to take a couple of
cruises per quarter this next year or so to help
me adjust back to single life.

have sailed Carnival app. 10 times but they say it is much more.  We
are sailing on Carnival on the 21st of this month from Miami.  We are
