I'm considering a train journey in Germany, and the Die Bahn web site is giving connection times of 5 to 10 minutes between trains. I wouldn't even consider this in the UK - I suspect that the German railways are rather more reliable, but are they this reliable in practice?

We are planning a ski vacation in Zermatt next winter. Want a hotel with alpine character. Does not need to be top tier... just authentic and friendly. No brocade. Stayed in Wengen last year at the Alpenrose. Loved it. Need equivalent in Zermatt.
