Athens City Center Accommodations29 Aug 2003 10:23 GMT2
We're heading to Greece next summer and will be spending a few days
next June in Athens. Since we'll only be there a couple days, we'd
perfer to be in the City Center (Plaka, Monastiraki or Makriyanni). We
tend to favor self-catering apartments or B&Bs but would like to get

For Tim-- re Venice prices29 Aug 2003 02:17 GMT1
Tim,
Let me note that, having spent years of my youth thumbing and hosteling
around Europe, I am in sympathy with the backpackers/day trippers( except
when they clutter the bridge so I can't get over it). But I don't think the

Hope you can help me.

Getting rid of my French Francs, Lira, and Deutschmarks28 Aug 2003 22:52 GMT17
Unfortunately, I have some cash in these now-obsolete currencies.  Does
anyone know how can I get them converted to USD or Euros?   I don't
think my bank (a conglomerate with steadily worsening service) will take
them.   Will an airport currency conversion place do it?
