We are planning to fly into Munich, rent a car for 2-3 weeks and drive  
to Italy (Fiesole) in October.
I checked prices on bootsnall.com and  it's $160/week (BASE rate,

I will be taking a trip with someone who loves to shop--into fashion
but a bit of a bargain hunter.  All the guidebooks I've read suggests
the Prati for more "reasonably-priced" shops in Rome, rather than the
area around Via Veneto.
