My wife and I will be going to Italy and the UK in Feb./March next year, and
I'm trying to get a handle on a few issues-
1) The first destination on our itinerary will be Venice, IT. In order to

(Africans, I assume, from the language they speak among themselves) selling
knock-off purses and bags.  Who are these guys?  Why are they always, and

from all the stories I read here, it seems that Italy is definately the
worst (then maybe Spain) for Gypsy pickpocketing and petty theft. Why is
this? Why not, say, France, or Northern Europe?
