Will be going to Rome next year. Does anyone have any recommendations for something in the affordable range? I would like something that is within easy walking distance or near a bus or metro stop)of the sights--one of my party has a bum leg and elderly.

Trying to travel the channel tunnel and new CTRL for the first time and have some break in dark December I tried some bookings. Was no problem to find excellent fares on Ryanair Skavsta-Charleroi was SEK259 and Stansted-Västerås was GBP18.26

What's a good price for a R/T London-Rome direct each way? I know I can get pretty cheap fares w/Ryan Air, but I'd prefer BA, as I'm accumulating FF miles with them, or at least a major airline, where I can get a seat assigned and deal with major airports, etc.
