At the end of March, I will be driving from Venice to Rome. I have planned to make stops in Florence and Siena. Does anybody have any suggestions for scenic roads to take instead of the autostrada? Any suggestions for other interesting towns/sites to visit along the way

Apparently North America is being hit by very cold weather, around 0°F in Boston and much colder in Montreal and Quebec City (-27°F). At around -30 the F and C temperature scales area bout the same. Paris had 14°C just a few days ago but it is dropping to below 10°C (50F).
