How this might effect travelers is questionable but for those
curious about Britain, as I am from a distance (Paris)

Planning a two week trip for a family of four to Munich / Bavaria
area.  Arriving mid June.  Any recommendations for a hotel,
guesthouse, vacation home which could be used as a home base for day
trips.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking at doing some regional touring of Britain by car.  Some
travel brochures I have show a Discover B&B pass where you can pre purchase
Bed & breakfast accomodation vouchers and then book the accomodation where
you want to stay while on the trip.

My wife and I (aged in our late 20's) are doing a 7 week trip around Europe and Britain and are just looking into our accommodation options.
Our travel agent has put forward the following options:
     City Nights Hotel
     Brussels 3 Citadines St Catherine

I will be arriving at Frankfurt Airport (Terminal 1A) at 11:25 and departing
from Terminal 1B at 16:00. Does it make sense to make a short trip to the
City? What is the average travel time to the City (by bus? train?) (I will

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit thick, but I've visited the London Transit
website and I'm still having trouble making sense of what I should
purchase. Maybe if I give my specific requirements, someone could make
a recommendation?

We want to spend a week in the French Alps this coming July.  I've
searched for sites that compare the different regions of the alps
without much success.  I'd appreciate any comparisons or
recommendations for useful websites.

Has anyone taken their GPS aboard aircraft in their carryon?
I fear the memory will be erased by the Xray if I put it inside my
checked baggage.

My husband and I are thinking about driving from Paris to Munich on Feb.
15.   We were going to take the night train and pick up a car in Munich,
but we found out it's only about $100 more to take the car in Paris
(cheaper than taking the train).  We used the www.viamichelin.com ...
