Travelling alone to Budapest.27 Jan 2004 18:58 GMT9
I hoping to travel to budapest in 2 weeks for a 3 night break (last minute
decision).  I am leaving the wife at home (she has to work) and will be
travelling alone.  I am in my late 30s but I am a little dubious as I have
never travelled alone before and wondered how safe and "one ...
German rail "online ticket"27 Jan 2004 18:40 GMT17
Has anyone in the US used the "online ticket" service to book
German train tickets at "www.bahn.de"?  It looks pretty much like
an airline e-ticket.  Is it similar?
Also, are there any potential problem with using one of these tickets
DVT malady27 Jan 2004 17:41 GMT23
If you have experienced this "coach seats" condition while flying long
distance, what advice would you give to someone to guard against DVT?
I have heard about getting up and walking, drinking lots of water but no
alcohol or coffee, and wearing support stackings.
Belgium, last minute travel27 Jan 2004 17:14 GMT19
The discounted air and hotel fares have forced our hand. We're taking a last
minute trip from MSP-->BRU (Minneapolis- Brussels). We've been to Brugge but
only Gare Midi at Brussels. I assume the airport shuttle train stops at Gare
Centrale. Is this correct? Is Grand Palais within ...
? France's Feb. school holidays27 Jan 2004 15:54 GMT1
I have noticed some restaurants are closed for School holidays in February.
Any information on the dates of the school holiday in 2004 will be
appreciated. If it is area specific, I'm interested in Provence and
Languedoc.
Florence-Siena advice27 Jan 2004 15:38 GMT14
I'm taking a trip that starts in Florence, travels around a bit, and ends in
Siena.  My flight home leaves Florence around noon.  Can I get to the
Florence airport easily and in time from Siena, or had I best go back to
Florence for the last night?  If reasonable, I'd rather stay in ...
European countries that DON'T use Euros?27 Jan 2004 15:14 GMT53
As much as I love visiting Europe, I'm afraid I have to concede that the
imbalance between the U.S. Dollar and the Euro has simply made it too expensive
for me right now. Perhaps a way to solve this problem in the short term is to
travel to countries that still use their own ...

I am travelling to Paris sometime towards end of March and is looking
for budget accomodation for around 10 days.  The place should preferably be
near the Les Halles/Louvre area, otherwise it should be near a metro.
Anyone with good recommendations ?  Would appreciate any ...

Taxi Fare - CDG-Paris Center27 Jan 2004 06:57 GMT1
Can anyone tell me a recent taxi fare from CDG - downtown Paris in
Euros.  My actual destination is near Gare Saint Lazare but any
downtown location will help me make a choice between taxi and shuttle
service.  I do not want to use public transportation as we both have

Do-it-yourself26 Jan 2004 23:48 GMT8
I have posted separately about my plan to visit Nice.
The choice of destination was, in part, influenced by an offer from a
tour organiser operating here in Ireland. I phoned to book, and found
that the offer was not all it seemed to be. First, they gave me wrong
