Special trip to Sweden21 Jan 2004 01:13 GMT3
I am planning a special trip to Sweden. I have been once, but just for
an event and spent less than a week. I want to go back and see the
same area I went to but in greater detail. I hope someone reading this
will know a little bit about the province of Skane. I was on the West

Can anyone help me please with the correct pronunciation of the
village where the Ice Hotel is in Sweden?    It is called Jukkasjärvi
and is near Kiruna.
I'm pronouncing it like Yukkas yer vi   but I know the  Swedish "K"

Madrid to Algeciras by... ?20 Jan 2004 23:28 GMT6
Next month I will be travelling to Spain and I need to get to Morocco
ASAP.  My first thought was to take the train to Algeciras and then
the ferry to Tangier, but the train schedule doesn't fit with the
arrival of my flight.  So I figure my options are:
Tuscany & Umbria20 Jan 2004 22:20 GMT11
Greetings all,
My wife and I and a couple of friends are traveling to Northern Italy in
May & June.  We have a week set aside to tour Tuscany & Umbria at the
end of our trip.  I know that isn't enough time but what can you do?
Bourg St. Maurice20 Jan 2004 21:17 GMT4
I am going on my honeymoon in July to Bourg St. Maurice.
Does anyone know if the Tour de France will be going through there?
I've looked at the tour route and it doesn't list it, but I am not
familiar with the geography and so I don't know if one of the cities

U.S., Europe Divided on Sky Marshals20 Jan 2004 19:42 GMT12
One minimal policy is to keep the potential terrorists uncertain.
I think that good ground control would likely be enough in 99%
of the flights, but occasionally they might have to go the extra
expense of putting marshals aboard.
On Motels in France20 Jan 2004 18:38 GMT8
Motoring stays in France have evolved greatly over the 40 years
we have driven here.  In the 60s, Motels virtually did not exist
and the autoroutes were few. Our usual travel routine then was
to use a guide like Michelin and stay in the center of a town or
Galicia in February20 Jan 2004 18:08 GMT5
Ok, I got one of the super duper SAS Advent calendar specials before
Christmas so I'm off to Galicia in February.  The weather appears to be
identical to Seattle now, lol, but I'm going for the food, wine and
language.
Bologna - Lyon Train Fares20 Jan 2004 17:05 GMT10
I seem to remember that a couple of years ago one was able to find prices
for international train journeys from various rail sites in Europe. Well,
that no longer appears to be possible, or at least easy.
At that time, I was able to price, and book, tickets within France and on
The end of Dutch tolerance20 Jan 2004 15:58 GMT7
The Dutch will tolerate almost anything.  Illegal satellite dishes.  The
world's highest burglary rate.  Welfare as a life-style choice.  Cigar
smokers in restaurants.  Marijuana.  Same-sex marriage.  Serbs
massacring Bosnian civilians.
Why travel anywhere?20 Jan 2004 15:17 GMT3
I'd like some input.  Just a general, almost off-topic, question.   Why do
you like to travel?   If older, do you think you should of traveled more
when you were younger?
I have a follow up question to come.
Giardino di Ninfa - Tours from Rome?20 Jan 2004 14:15 GMT4
I'm going to Rome for a couple of weeks at the end of May and have a notion
to visit the garden at Ninfa. I've been once before but they were closed. I
understand that they are open for the first weekend each month so I should
be OK for the first weekend in June. Can any of you Rome ...
