Budapest, the second week in May.
SLEEPING: I don't mind spending money on many things but I prefer
very economical lodging as I only bathe and sleep in the hotel so
don't care about much but hot water, clean sheets, and adequate towels.

I'm travelling from Singapore to Rome (Fiumicino) in May.  I want to go
straight on to either Naples or Palermo.  The options I am aware of are
Alitalia and Air One (to Palermo only).  Air One fares seem reasonable,
Alitalia fares seem to be twice as expensive.  I would be grateful ...
