Valencia to Barcelona by car31 Jul 2006 14:23 GMT2
I am hoping somebody can recommend a 'must-see' between Valencia and
Barcelona.  We have rented a car to make the 350 KM drive and will have
an entire day to do it.  We want to stop in one or two places along the
way.
UK bomb alerts31 Jul 2006 11:26 GMT8
Two bomb alerts I know of in the last two days, one at Doncaster
station and the other at Roslin Chapel (I happened to find out
about them since my girlfriend was involved in an event that was
affected by both in succession).
La canicule31 Jul 2006 09:41 GMT176
We survived it with no great difficulty but a little discomfort.
We neither of us like high temperatures. Anything over about 25C is
generally too much for us and in the Loire Valley last week it got
over 35C.

Now I'm just waiting for some French newspapers to tell us about his

The French31 Jul 2006 07:34 GMT7
Ted Nugent, a heavy metal guitar legend and devoted (bow) hunter, was
being interviewed by a French journalist. Eventually, the conversation
turned to his love of outdoor pursuits. The journalist asked, "What do
you think the last thought is in the head of a deer before you shoot

any European cities that 'stay open' on Christmas Day and Boxing Day?30 Jul 2006 21:53 GMT24
As I live alone, I find Christmas a pretty dreary time, so would like
to get away from the UK for a few days.
The trouble is, it's not much fun being in a foriegn city if the shops
and restaurants are closed, and there's no public transport.
How to reduce your hotel bill when attending a European trade show?30 Jul 2006 19:16 GMT1
Please let me tell you about an interesting way to book your hotel
accommodation should you attend a European trade show as an exhibitor
or a visitor.
I am yield manager of L.R.I. hotel reservation system for European
driving tour of France, book hotels in advance or during?30 Jul 2006 18:07 GMT9
I'm planning on a driving tour of France in September, visiting the
Loire Valley and then out to Alsace.  I'm trying to decide whether I
need to nail down an itinerary and book all the hotels in advance or
whether to leave the whole thing more open and find hotels each night.
Le Luc To St. Tropez30 Jul 2006 16:55 GMT3
Has anyone driven from the Le Luc exit on A8 to St.Tropez?  It looks like a
good way to avoid St. Maxime traffic.  My concern is a tough drive through
the Massif Des Maures--after a long plane ride.  I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks
Prinsengracht   Concert30 Jul 2006 16:40 GMT1
It says on the web site that the Prinsengracht concert attracts 20,000
people so arrive early if you want a good seat.   A good seat where?
How do 20,000 people get close to a pontoon stage on a canal?
