foreigners living amongst them.
Today, we learned that Germany is as fearful of their immigrants as
well."
Phone cards in Russia?30 Sep 2006 14:12 GMT7
I have read somewhere that finding a phone from which to use a phone card
(outside the hotels that charge mega-bucks connection fees) is sometimes a
problem in Russia. After a few days in Moscow, we are taking a river cruise
to St. Petersburg. Will we be able to find phones at ...
Same Exact Hotel room, Possible?30 Sep 2006 05:00 GMT10
Would it be possible to try and get the same exact hotel room again, after
having stayed in that very room some years ago?
There is a hotel in London that I stayed at many years ago (5 +) and I would
love to be able to get the same room again. I had a great time there, was
Online map resource29 Sep 2006 22:03 GMT7
MapQuest does a good job for the USA, but when a European
address is entered the displayed map does not contain names for
all of the local streets.  Can someone recommend a better resource?
My favorite Greek sculpture29 Sep 2006 20:41 GMT6
This is of Aphrodite rejecting the advances of Pan by swatting at him

It is the only "funny" sculpture I have ever seen.
Very earthy.

I will be getting a BritRail Pass for use in February... what I was
wondering is... I have a British Passport (I live in Canada).  Will I
get any hassles validating it or on the trains?  I know you simply
cannot be a British resident to get the pass.  but since my passport is
Ukraine & Moldova - trip report (long)29 Sep 2006 16:13 GMT26
I've just got back from two weeks in Ukraine & Moldova and thought I
would give you all a run-down.  Overall both countries are highly
recommended and I can't think why they're not better known as tourist
destinations.  There is loads to see, very cheap, friendly people, good
Going to Southern England29 Sep 2006 14:57 GMT33

recommend good quality accomodation.  We were looking at the Ibis which is
approx £40 per night and well located but my wife doesn't like the 'plastic'
look of the room.  Ideally she seems to want the Holiday ...
