New fare for Italian trains14 Jun 2007 16:18 GMT2
There is a new type of fare for Italian trains that gives a pretty
good discount if you reserve the day before your departure. The fare
is called "Amica". There is a limited number of seats at this
discounted rate. I have a feeling that this new fare is accompanied by
An Overdue Memorial14 Jun 2007 14:13 GMT4
Considering the enormity of what it commemorates, the Memorial to the
Victims of Communism, dedicated by President Bush yesterday, is
striking for its modest proportions: a 10-foot female figure raising a
torch at a busy intersection in Washington, D.C. That's a fitting

smoking in Europe14 Jun 2007 09:31 GMT167
I was just wondering how smoking in Europe compares with smoking in
the U.S.  I'd like to find a European country with almost no smoking.
Thank you.

Why would anyone go on holiday and spend it in a hostel?13 Jun 2007 22:34 GMT47
This is one thing I never understood. Going on holiday and spending it
in a hostel? blaah, not really a holiday I'd love to be on, is it. If
I go on holiday I rather treat myself and spend it in a 4* or even 5*
hotel than being in a cheap hotel sharing room with everyone....

Rome 21 June AD 32013 Jun 2007 18:32 GMT2
Here is a way to take a trip back in time (sort of) to visit ancient
Rome as it was in the days of Emperor Constantine the First. The site
includes fly-overs of the city and walk-throughouts of the Colosseum,
the Forum, and elsewhere. The recreation project, called Rome Reborn

Renewing the 89 day tourist visa what countrys do you go to?13 Jun 2007 13:24 GMT3
I was wondering for people living within the EU, (Paris for me) what
countrys do you go to when you are trying to renew the 89 day allowed
stay? Morocco? Tunisia?
Which country is closest and still considered "Leaving the Eu"?
Why Albanians Love America13 Jun 2007 12:39 GMT12
President Bush received a hero's welcome in Albania on Sunday, and our
guess is that very few Americans know why. The reason is U.S. support
for Kosovo, which was a flash point in the 1990s and is emerging as
another potential problem thanks to Vladimir Putin.
English as spoken in the Italian tourist industry13 Jun 2007 11:45 GMT33
Doing a little research for a future trip, I came across this gem on a
website about the Isola Giglio, in the Tuscan archipelago:
" its mild climate favors to the visitors a vacation full of surprises
in all the seasons, to narrow contact with a genuine and
