My daughter will be travelling to France and we are looking at the cheapest method for her to use her mobile phone to ring back to Australia. Global roaming will make it expensive - is there a local phone card available that will work in GSM phone

This was, what, my 9th trip to France I think, and my 2nd trip on my own. No problems on any of my prior trips using my standard US-issued non-smart-chip Visa card. That was before I visited Tarbes, near the Pyrenees.

I have read that you can buy a "pay as you go " London Transport Oyster card at any London tube station. I will be in London for 3 weeks and want to buy a 7 Travelpass (on an Oyster Card) which I will have to repeat 2 more times.
