Do I need a special "pass" (vignette) to drive on some roads in France and Spain? if so, where can I get one. I'll be arriving in Madrid and renting a car there and returning it there after three weeks but will be driving to France.

One irony is that many countries have no problems granting the immigrating rich visas. The US is not so welcoming in this way. The problem in living in a "strange" country is one of cultural adaptability.
