Just started thinking about carnaval in Rio. I think I'd like to stay
in Barra this time. Any recommendations for good hotels (4 or 5 star)?
Also, I'd consider flats, apts, houses, etc... I won't need a parking
space, but I want 24 hr security. Also, any tips about Barra

does someone know if it is easy to book a trekking tour in Caracas, Ciudad
Bolivar or somewhere else during the months of February or March? Is it
possible to fly to Venezuela and virtually next day or the day after leave

My Husband and I will be heading to Costa Rica in March 2004 and
don't know which tour company to go with for a 12 day custom tour. Can
anyone
recommend a good company?  So far, we are considering the following

My husband and I and another couple just got back from our 4th trip to Costa
Rica, mainly beaches. We got eaten alive, the other couple hardly got any
bites.  We used the same repellant with DEETS.
Why were we so tastey and what can we do to avoid this happening again.

we are planning to drive from Rio Gallegos to Mendoza on the Ruta 40.
We are not sure whether we need a 4X4 or not.

Just booked my flights for Belize, Guat & Costa Rica...I am pscyhed...
I was wondering how accessible bus/van transport is in Costa Rica.
I am flying into San Jose & spending the night....the following morning I was
hoping to head to Tabacon Resort in Arenal area.

We'll be spending some time in Caye Caulker. Can one book tours to
Tikal from Caulker, or should one do this from someplace like the
airport or Belize City?

There are some things that the web sites don't say, so I'd appreciate

I like the feeling of peace & quiet...but not into the feeling of isolation...

How much would a taxi cost to get from Puntarenas to Monteverde?
We are going to be in Montezuma, which means we'll have to take the
ferry to Puntarenas and then try to get a taxi from there. Any idea
what it might cost us? I'm not sure how many miles it is or how long

Ok, this might sound like a dumb question...
Is there a lot of monkeys in the Monteverde area?  I visited Manuel Antonio &
saw dozens of monkeys & sloths close up...Does Monteverde have this amount of
wild life?  Just curious.
