Just started thinking about carnaval in Rio. I think I'd like to stay
in Barra this time. Any recommendations for good hotels (4 or 5 star)?
Also, I'd consider flats, apts, houses, etc... I won't need a parking
space, but I want 24 hr security. Also, any tips about Barra

My husband and I and another couple just got back from our 4th trip to Costa
Rica, mainly beaches. We got eaten alive, the other couple hardly got any
bites.  We used the same repellant with DEETS.
Why were we so tastey and what can we do to avoid this happening again.

We are not sure whether we need a 4X4 or not.
Our maps do not show which parts are paved or unpaved, good or bad
condition. I checked the webpages and NG's. mostly info for bikers etc.

Tours from Caulker?04 Jan 2004 23:09 GMT4
We'll be spending some time in Caye Caulker. Can one book tours to
Tikal from Caulker, or should one do this from someplace like the
airport or Belize City?
Thank you!

There are some things that the web sites don't say, so I'd appreciate
some feedback from those of you who'd been there.
Are credit cards accepted all over the island? Are traveller's cheques
likewise accepted all over the island?
Ambergris...North of San Pedro04 Jan 2004 23:01 GMT2
How accessible are the hotels north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye?
I like the feeling of peace & quiet...but not into the feeling of isolation...
Anyone stayed in the Capt. Morgan Hotel? Or any of the hotels north of San
Pedro they'd reccommend?

We are going to be in Montezuma, which means we'll have to take the
ferry to Puntarenas and then try to get a taxi from there. Any idea
what it might cost us? I'm not sure how many miles it is or how long

saw dozens of monkeys & sloths close up...Does Monteverde have this amount of
wild life?  Just curious.
