My husband and I and another couple just got back from our 4th trip to Costa Rica, mainly beaches. We got eaten alive, the other couple hardly got any bites. We used the same repellant with DEETS. Why were we so tastey and what can we do to avoid this happening again.

we are planning to drive from Rio Gallegos to Mendoza on the Ruta 40. We are not sure whether we need a 4X4 or not. Our maps do not show which parts are paved or unpaved, good or bad condition. I checked the webpages and NG's. mostly info for bikers etc.

How accessible are the hotels north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye? I like the feeling of peace & quiet...but not into the feeling of isolation... Anyone stayed in the Capt. Morgan Hotel? Or any of the hotels north of San Pedro they'd reccommend?

Ok, this might sound like a dumb question... Is there a lot of monkeys in the Monteverde area? I visited Manuel Antonio & saw dozens of monkeys & sloths close up...Does Monteverde have this amount of wild life? Just curious.
