  I'm planning a 9 day trip to sunny Acapulco. Was looking for some

I am staying 3 weeks in Mexico next month flying in and out at Mexico City.
From there I would like to visit Tehotihuacan and then be on the road to
Oaxaca, San Cristobal de las Casas, and the yucatan peninsula where I would stay
1 week before flying back.

Anyone been in Mexico last few weeks, say Puerto Vallarta, and noticed
the exchange rates at the local "Cambios" for Canadian $$?  We are
heading down in a few days and are debating where to do the money
conversion since last year the better rate proved to be in Mexico rather

have read conflicting recommandations about keeping one's backpack safe.
Do you recommend those PacSafe/chickenwire things? A simple cable lock?
Nothing at all?  PacSafe seems nice, but its heavy and I'd like ...
