I'm going to Belize for 12 days in January and would like to stay in very clean and comfortable, but not necessarily upscale, accommodations (bed and breakfasts or guest houses) in the Cayo district and on Ambergris Cay. Any recommendations?

We want to visit the Amazon and are trying to decide how and where. We probably would prefer a cruise. It looks like you can do that with smaller ships in Peru or with larger ships from the Atlantic side. Several itineraries exist.

Will be in Buenos Aires for 1-week and need some advice regarding cash... I plan to bring a few hundred dollars with me and the rest will come from ATMs using my debit card. I'd like to have a backup, just in case I cannot use my Debit card (lost, atm machine ate it, etc).
