as a remedy against altitute-sickness Coca tea/leaves are

Re: Which Spanish-speaking country, etc....31 Mar 2005 01:31 GMT5
I think that even if you find a country that is "most" like Europe among the
countries where Spanish is spoken, it will fall far short of your ideal. The
culture is a different one, with a different attitude toward time (and
probably toward life in general).
Smoking in Central America29 Mar 2005 17:41 GMT2
I've spent several months in Mexico and I was wondering if people in
Central America smoke significantly more or less.  I noticed on some
people's pictures of Central America a lot of people were smoking. It
almost looks like they think it looks cool.

How to travel by road through Central America (onward ticket requirement?)28 Mar 2005 02:13 GMT1
Most countries have a stipulation for their visa or tourist entrance
that one must have an onward ticket out of the country before coming
into the country.  If you have lots of money, is this waived in most
cases?
Border between Paraguay and Bolivia27 Mar 2005 21:41 GMT2
I'm planning to visit Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru with two (female) friends
this summer. All of us are students so we plan a rather low bugdet-tour.

Iquitos this summer. Has anyone ever taken this trip and is it as good
as advertised? What about the heat and mosquitos in July?

Webcams for Latin America?23 Mar 2005 01:43 GMT12
The last time I Googled this I went to about 50 Brazilian sites.  Not one was working.  Not a one.  I
realize that webcams by nature are finicky but this was ridiculous.  I'm particularly interested in Rio
de Janeiro, Sao Paolo, and anything in Costa Rica, Columbia, Panama, ...
