This summer we will travel to Mexico for 40 days.
We are going to spend the last weeks in Oaxaca, and we would like to
finish our travel, in Oaxaca coast.

I am in the process of buying 4 airline tickets for myself and my
family to Cancun.  Once we arrive in Cancun, we will be traveling
"backpack style", i.e. public transport and inexpensive lodgings.
I am a little perplexed at the way the airline tickets are behaving.

Has anyone out there had the experience of taking a bicycle with them on a
commercial flight to Costa Rica?  Not a folding bike, but a road or hybrid
partially disassembled.
Difficulties/restrictions on the airline?  Customs?

I have a hard time understanding why a group of tourists would go to
a dangerous area of Columbia known for violence and kidnapping.
Are these the dumbest people in the world?  Now a group of them have
