As part of a 2-week trip through Chile, I will need to go overnight
from Santiago to Temuco on a Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Can anyone describe current conditions of Brasil's famous BR-319, the
mostly dirt road that travels from south of Manaus to Porto Velho?  Or
provide a link to a web site that has information on BR-319? The
messages about BR-319 posted here date from 2002 and 2003.
