I would like to go visit Mexico City, but I read online that there is so much crime that I am having 2nd doubts. Kidnappings, robberies, etc.. Anyone know if its any safer now? Is it worth the risk?

has anyone good hints for flights to Lima, Perù? I live in Milan and I plan to go to Lima next forthcoming October. I am thinking about KLM: flight from Milan to Amsterdam and then connection from Amsterdam to Lima. Seems like the cheapest and the shortest one.. What do you think?
