Cuba ----> Yucatan via boat?30 Nov 2005 07:19 GMT4
Does anyone know if it's feasible to simply turn up on the western-most
coast of Cuba and hire/charter a boat (on the spot) to take you the 150
miles or so to Chetumel (for example)? Or is there a regular ferry
service between Cuba and Yucatan, even?

Weather in Guatemala late April/ early May?26 Nov 2005 06:55 GMT4
I'm possibly looking into a trip to Guatemala next year, with the
timing fixed to just before my sister's wedding on May 6th (so a friend
from Malaysia who's coming for that can join me). I know that's the end
of the "dry" season, so was wondering what weather to expect. I don't
Costa Rica - Hotel Punta Leona?24 Nov 2005 13:47 GMT2
We are thinking of a January holiday at the Hotel Punta Leona.  Two adults
and a 6 year old boy.  Any experiences with this resort?
I can't tell from their web site how far the residences are from the breach?
Nosara Costa Rica24 Nov 2005 13:37 GMT1
I'm planning a trip to the Nosara area in March with my husband and 2
1/2 year old daughter. We're drawn to it because it seems so off the
beaten track and slow-paced. However I do wonder if it might be too
slow, and whether there's enough to keep us occupied for 6 days. We're
Tapalpa - Highland village hidden in time24 Nov 2005 08:44 GMT2
Tapalpa, near Guadalajara in the Jalisco state, seems to be stuck in
time. This beautiful little village maintains its original feeling and
gives you a true feel for genuine Mexican village life. Despite its
hidden location it is popular, with many visitors coming for a weekend
First Trip to Peru24 Nov 2005 02:05 GMT1
I am debating a trip to Peru in February.  I have heard that the
Inca Trail closes in February for restoration every year.  Is this an
integral part of visiting Machu Picchu?  I am also having some trouble
finding good travel planning information on visiting Peru.  Does anyone
Dermatologist recommendations in Tijuana?23 Nov 2005 02:58 GMT6
Does anyone have any recommendations for good dermatologists in
Tijuana, Mexico?  Maybe dentists too.  I have a couple moles I'd like
to have removed, and had great success in Ensenada many years back.  I
was lucky to find a great dermatologist back then who removed 4-5 at
From Uruguay.21 Nov 2005 14:47 GMT2
Gabriel, it is indeed a pity, a shame, and a disgrace that a great
majority of my fellow americans are just simply stupid, as far as
geography is concerned... starting with our so-called leader......I have
been to your country......it is beautiful .
