Cheapest way? Tips sought31 Aug 2004 23:09 GMT9
I really want to get into the travel-across-North-America thing. Is an RV
the best thing to buy? What about a VW van? Can you park rv's anywhere, and
*safely*, to sleep for the night?
Thanks,
Strange Trailer Suspension Problem31 Aug 2004 23:07 GMT1
Our trip to Yellowstone and then across to the Oregon coast went well.
We only had one incident, and that happened just outside of Springfield, OR.
We pulled into a school parking lot to have a stretch.  There were a
couple of speed bumps, and I hit them a little faster than I ...

I purchased a second hand 23' Shasta pull behind camper recently and
have been checking it out in our driveway before venturing to a
campground.  I'll admit I'm a newbie to camper maintenance... this is my
first.
Tent camping in San Diego?31 Aug 2004 17:53 GMT15
Anybody know of a good campground in San Diego?  Hotel prices are obnoxious
and I'm not sure if DH will go for a hostel; actually, I'm not sure about a
hostel in San Diego, either, because they all tout their keg parties and pub
crawls... not my scene.  So that leaves us with tent ...

This is one of the new additions to Speed Bumps/Second Wind that I
skipped over last year.  I take notes of a sort even when I don't post
stuff.  Quite a lot of it is up on the website now, and more to come.
Have a look.

Dodge Sprinter - DIY Conversion31 Aug 2004 16:13 GMT13
Does anyone have some opinions about converting a dodge sprinter van
into a RV? At the very least, I would think it would be simple to add
some fold out couches and drop down bunkbeds so that it could sleep
four. A 12V/110V converter, microwave, little electric fridge, coleman

Wal Mart Wine31 Aug 2004 07:28 GMT9
Some Walmart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item:
Walmart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up
with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, California, to produce the spirits at an
affordable price, in the $2-5 range.
RE: HMC windshield gaskets31 Aug 2004 07:21 GMT4
I am trying to find two windshield gaskets for a 1994 Hawkins Motor Coach.
Mine have shrunk and started to leak.  I have tried several glass places and
none of them have them.  Anyone happen to know of a place that carries
them??
Onan generator starting problem31 Aug 2004 03:57 GMT5
I have a motorhome with a 6500 watt Onan generator and when I press the
starter switch to crank it, I hear sort of a crackling noise from the
generator for a few seconds then the starter will turn.
So if anyone knows what's wrong please reply. Thanks for any input.

Hi, world.
I bought a used Onan genset, model 15.0JC-18R/17164AB.  When it
arrived, it was wired for three phase power.  According to the
automatic transfer switch it has about 600 hours on it.  It looks
